Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church
OUR MINISTRIES
Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church is dedicated to meeting the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of not only our congregation, but those of the surrounding community as well.
Prayer
Our church understands the power of prayer! We have established a Prayer Chain, a group of individuals who takes prayer request, offers prayers for those who request it and encourage others to pray for those who need, or want, to experience God on a more personal level.
Sunday school
Our Sunday School program starts at 9:30 A.M. every Sunday. We offer classes for all age groups with fun and interactive, Bible centered lesssons.
The Children's Sunday School will take a break during the summer, and resume in September with our Rally Day Celebration. The Adult Sunday School class will continue to meet throughout the summer.
Youth
We are proud of our youth. Our church's Youth Group has raised funds to send shoebox packages over seas for Christmas, and food giveaways to the needy at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. Any youth ages 12 and up are welcomed to come see what we are all about.
Community service
Gibson Heights Second Presbyterian Church seeks to help care for the spiritual, physical and emotional needs of those living in our community. We serve a free meal on the last Wednesday of every month. This meal is free to all, no restrictions, no questions asked. Also, we have an on going clothing drive to help those who are in need. There are clothes, belts, shoes and other articles of clothing free to those who are truly in need. For those with children, our church is the home of the Kid's Kloset. A collection of slightly used clothing, shoes, backpacks and other clothing articles that need children to give them a good home at no cost.
